The Boxer is a medium size, short-haired breed renowned for its strong, muscular build and distinctive square-shaped head. Originally developed in Germany in the late 19th century, Boxers were bred as working dogs for hunting, guarding, and military purposes. Today, they're beloved family companions known for their boundless energy, intelligence, and unwavering loyalty.
Boxers are characterized by their playful nature well into adulthood, earning them the nickname "Peter Pan" of dog breeds. They form incredibly strong bonds with their families and are especially gentle and protective with children.
These remarkable dogs typically stand 21–25 inches tall at the shoulder. Adult males usually measure between 23–25 inches and weigh approximately 65–80 pounds, while females stand around 21–23 inches and typically weigh between 50–65 pounds.
Their short, smooth coat requires minimal grooming and appears in fawn and brindle variations, often with white markings on the head, chest, and legs.
